Fly Navy Gin
On 2 August 1917, Commander E H Dunning Royal Navy became the first man to land an aircraft on a moving ship at sea A century later, flying operations from the Nation's flagship carrier HMS QUEEN ELIZABETH can be traced directly back to this world first event in naval aviation.
Curio Spirits has produced a new botanical gin - Fly Navy Gin - to mark the centenary of landing the first aircraft on a moving ship at sea. Given our close proximity to RNAS Culdrose in Helston, we wanted to create a gin to mark this important landmark.
Hand-crafted in Cornwall, in small batches, with carefully selected botanicals, including organic Madagascan vanilla, sansho peppers and local Cornish, Fly Navy gin is an earthy, citrus gin that is unique, full of character and can be enjoyed neat, as a G&T or in a cocktail. A donation from the sale of each bottle will go to "Navy Wings", keeping heritage Naval aircraft in the skies (navywings.org.uk).
